IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION CANDIDATE MUST BE SERVING PERMANENTLY IN THE TITLE OF INVESTIGATOR, OR REACHABLE ON THE INVESTIGATOR CIVIL SERVICE LIST, OR ELIGIBLE UNDER THE 55A PROGRAM.The New York City Department of Transportation provides for the safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible movement of people and goods in the City of New York and maintains and enhances the transportation infrastructure crucial to the economic vitality and quality of life of City residents. Job Description: Selected candidate will serve as a Investigator for the Security unit within the Facilities Management Division at the Department of Transportation. Under administrative direction, with latitude to exercise independent initiative and judgment, the selected candidate performs the following:SurveillancesInterrogates subjects and witnesses Examines and analyzes employee records Maintains case records, prepares reportsAnalyzes agency records Makes recommendations as to appropriateaction to be taken following investigation Testifies at hearings, may be required to testify at court proceedingsMay work in close coordination with City investigatory agenciesAnalyzes and evaluates existing and proposed agency proceduresConducts security surveys of agency operations and facilitiesDevelops security plansPerforms training in detection and control procedures to limit misconduct, and incompetency to other agency staff
